An Office Supply Store on Dillingham
I'm not going to say if I work or worked there, but years ago, a little girl died there by accident and her spirit haunts the ladies' room and the receiving area of an Office Store on Dillingham Blvd. Sometimes you can hear a child running around when no one is there, and hear her voice. Maybe she doesn't know she's passed on. (Anonymous)
I was driving past the park around 2 a.m. one night and on the side of the park along the road I was surprised to see a group of Mexican-looking people with very white skin singing and dancing, wearing colorful Mexican clothing, particularly at that time of night. When I passed them, I looked in my rear view mirror to take another look, and to my horror, no one was in sight anywhere! Luckily, I was close to home, but never did I take the shortcut home and drive on that street past that park late at night again. I take the longer way home! (By Mary)
Ewa Plantation Park
Once, I stayed at a "Prince" Hotel in Waikiki and thought I'd take some pictures of our room with my 'palm pilot'. Sometime later when I got home and downloaded the photos onto my computer, I noticed a green illuminated orb of light in one of the photos I took of the hotel room. Of course, I thought maybe it was due to some pixel discoloration or something from my palm pilot, but upon closer examination I could clearly see that it was not the case; it was something in the room I caught on camera. I kept that picture on my computer, then strange things began happening in our house. One day during broad daylight a pot that was on the back-burner of the stove suddenly fell to the floor by itself with no logical explanation. Not wanting to take any chances on any more scary occurrences for my wife and kids sake, I decided to delete the picture. And since I deleted that picture from my computer, all of those strange occurrences had suddenly stopped! I guess some spirits don't want to be photographed! (By E.N.)

A Hospital Near Kalihi
We were doing some construction work at a hospital near Kalihi. We would often experience hospital doors opening and closing by itself, and seeing white figures walking by from the corner of our eyes. Of course we thought it was just our imagination, until one day during our lunch break, when someone mentioned experiencing these things, then everyone else starting chiming in with their experiences. Often seeing and small talking with some of the hospital workers, they weren't at all surprised to hear what we experienced, saying that it always happens and although they find it scary too, they try to just ignore them. One afternoon alone at home, I went to lie down and take a nap. As I was lying on the bed something to my left at the window had suddenly caught my eye. When I turned to look, I saw my daughter's ghost, all in white, peeking in and looking at me from outside the window! She had a pleasant look on her face, and my feeling was that she was checking to see if I was alright, as her dad and I was in the middle of a divorce. Sure, people witness ghosts of deceased loved ones all the time, but the strange twist to this experience, is my daughter was alive and well at the time (thank goodness) and still is. This was an experience that took place about 9 years ago! I am glad to say, that at the time, it didn't feel it was a bad omen but more like an act of love instead. (By S. Larson)

The Black, Hairy Monster
When I was around 8 years old, I went into the living room in the middle of the night because I couldn?t sleep. When I entered the living room, I saw a black, hairy-looking beast with sharp teeth and red eyes looking at me through one of the living room windows. I was so scared and didn?t know what to do, when suddenly, this older woman dressed in a long white dress appeared and guided me to sit with her on the sofa. I felt grateful she was there, but still, was very scared and couldn?t keep still. The lady in white was very calm and didn?t appear bothered at all by the beast that was still looking at me through the window on the left from where we sat. She told me just sit down and don?t look. For a moment, I thought maybe it was easy for her because the ?monster? was looking at me, and not her. As scared as I was, I tried my best not to be scared, and especially, not looking at that beast growling and snarling with his red eyes glaring at me from outside the window. Soon after, (and don?t know how I was able to either), I fell asleep. Thank god, I never experienced that ?monster? again, and thank god that lady in white came to be with me when I needed someone! A Husband's Wedding Anniversary
I?m writing this for my friend, TC, who can often see and hear ghosts. He said at home one night, there was a man spirit that followed him. The spirit didn?t come into his house or anything, but stayed outside, looking depressed, and TC could tell he was an earthbound spirit. So TC decided to ask the spirit if he was okay, being he looked so depressed. The spirit went on to say how he and his wife always did something special every time their wedding anniversary came around, and on their wedding anniversary, he was happily on his way home from work excited to surprise her with something, but never made it home because he got into a car accident and died. It happened years ago, and he?s been here since. Soon after telling TC what happened to him, he seemed to become released from that depression that anchored him here and was able to let go and move on to the other side. When I asked TC how come, he said some spirits like him just need to tell someone on this side what happened to them, and they?re able to move on. He said he doesn?t understand that either, just that sometimes it?s like that. (By Pualei)
The Children's Path
Small kid time, we had a neighbor that was an older couple, the Lim's. They was really nice, especially the wife, Mrs. Lim, who we often had fun with. One day, she told us they've been hearing small kids in the back of their house, right outside their bedroom window really late at night. She knows it wasn't any of us, and when we asked if she looked outside the window, she said no. My feeling was because she knew just what they was, ghosts. She even looked kinda afraid. We thought her story was interesting and because she was always so nice to us, we took it upon ourselves to "investigate". With her permission, we went in the back of their house where there's dirt walkway or trail that ran along side the entire back of the house with all their plants on the opposite side. We didn't expect to find anything, but as we were looking on the dirt path, we were surprised to find foot prints of really small shoes imprinted on the dirt! We ran to go get Mrs. Lim to show her what we just found, and when we took her behind the house and showed her the small foot prints in the dirt, she quickly got the water hose and washed away the foot prints. It was kinda funny, but none of us let her see us laughing to ourselves. The strange thing is, ever since Mrs. Lim had hosed down the foot prints, they haven't been hearing small children playing in the back of their house anymore. Or so she said. But maybe she was telling us the truth because that was the first and last time we ever found any small footsteps in the back of the house. (C. Koga)
