SIGNALBOXES RECOVERED

Over the years that the Peak Railway society and latter Peak Rail have been operating a railway between Rowsley and Matlock,... and before this a steam centre in the late 1970`s to 1990`s at Buxton, many ex mainline signalboxes have been recovered for use on the line... mostly these are just lever frames or parts such as those from Whaley Bridge,Bramhall sidings, Hindlow and Dunford Bridge,parts of the structures or in some cases salvaging projects such as the whole signalbox,in connection with other railway societies.compiled with kind assistance of Mr S Foster.

Hindlow signalbox structure recovery, this signalbox lay on the Buxton to Ashbourne railway,just outside of Buxton.

Marple Wharf Junction, in Cheshire was the junctions of two lines to Macclesfield and to New Mills and the Hope valley.

Lymm Lane Crossing

Gorsey Bank,used to be a crossing box on the Midland`s Wirksworth branch, the cabin seen here during re-erection at Church Lane.

Lymm Crossing & Lymm Station, the signalbox lay on the now removed line from Skelton Junction to Warrington, a former Cheshire Line Comitee line near Altrincham,Cheshire.

Glendon North junction,controlled an area north of Kettering.

Buxton No. 2; Peak Rail`s first signalbox, when the steam centre was at Buxton.
